Mountains and Seas Unite for a New Chapter: Guizhou's Sojourn Promotion Conference Comes to Macao
At a promotion conference in Macao, Guizhou unveiled three sojourn belts, a service guarantee for Macao residents, and new partnerships with local travel and aviation firms. The event aims to strengthen cooperation across the Greater Bay Area.
On October 17, Macao hosted the International Promotion Conference for "Sojourn in Guizhou." The event was organized by the culture and tourism department, the information office, the housing and urban-rural development department, and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guizhou Province. About 200 cultural and tourism representatives from Macao and Guizhou attended to explore ways to work together and to sketch out a shared plan for the sojourn industry.
Three signature sojourn belts
Guizhou introduced three flagship sojourn zones: Cool Summer Retreat, Sunny South Guizhou, and Wellness and Healing. The province also presented a range of tour routes and sojourn products built around them.
A "Five-Heart" service promise for Macao residents
To make it easier for Macao residents to settle in Guizhou, the province offered an end-to-end "Five-Heart" service guarantee. It covers finding a property, secure transactions, supportive lending, safeguarded funds, and streamlined paperwork from start to finish.
Showcases and new partnerships
Key enterprises and representative projects from across the province displayed their products and gave presentations. Two agreements were then signed: one between Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group and the Travel Industry Council of Macau, and another between Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group and Air Macau. The Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism also presented Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group with a plaque for its "Colorful Guizhou" International Tourist Transit Service Center in Macao.
The six pillars behind the sojourn model
In recent years, Guizhou has promoted its products, services, lifestyle, and emotional appeal as one cohesive package, turning its natural and cultural assets into experiences visitors can actually enjoy. Six industries, namely culture, tourism, sports, healthcare, commerce, and transportation, form the foundation. Together they make sure people arriving from anywhere can settle in comfortably and have plenty to enjoy during their stay.
Networking, local specialties, and practical guides
The venue had space for open networking, hands-on sojourn experiences built around the six pillars, and exhibition booths for companies. Visitors sampled and browsed Guizhou specialties, including intangible cultural heritage items, tourism souvenirs, wellness goods, the "new trio" of drinks (coffee, modern-style tea, and craft beer), and local dishes, and many used the occasion to discuss possible partnerships. Guizhou also handed out two practical guides for Macao residents: one on traveling to and buying property in Guizhou, and another with renting tips for sojourners.
The conference deepened hands-on cultural and tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Macao. It also gave new momentum to the growth of Guizhou's sojourn market across the Greater Bay Area, bringing the province closer to becoming one of the country's leading sojourn destinations.
