Brook StarRay Wireless Controller Launches With Native PS5 Support and an Xbox-Style Layout

Brook Gaming has released the StarRay Wireless Controller, a multi-platform pad that pairs native PS5 compatibility with an asymmetrical stick arrangement similar to Xbox controllers. It is now sold through the Brook Amazon Store and Brook's official online shop.

StarRay is aimed at players who want responsive controls across many genres. It works with PS5, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, and can connect over Bluetooth or a USB-C cable. On PS5, it can also switch on the console directly from the HOME button.

Speed and Precision for Every Game

The controller uses Hall Effect analog sticks, which are designed for accuracy and durability and reduce the risk of stick drift. Its mechanical buttons are rated for about 4 million presses and register input up to 30% faster than standard controller buttons.

PC players can use a wired connection to reach a polling rate of up to 1000Hz, which suits shooters, action games, and other fast-paced titles.

The dual-mode trigger system offers two settings: a 15mm long-stroke linear trigger for fine control in racing games, and a 0.3mm short-stroke quick trigger for rapid inputs in shooters and action titles.

Customization Through the StarRay App

The companion app supports Turbo and Macro functions, button remapping, and adjustments to joystick sensitivity and dead zones. Players can tune separate setups for different games and playstyles, and firmware updates are delivered through the app to keep the controller current.

Other hardware features include two top auxiliary buttons, two rear buttons, dual vibration motors, RGB lighting, and anti-slip grips. It also has a 3.5mm stereo jack for a headset with microphone and a 1100mAh rechargeable battery.
